SKILLS was formed in 2004 by owner and CEO Dawn Stokes. At that time, over 5,000 teenage drivers were killed each year in motor vehicle related incidents. SKILLS built a curriculum centered around reducing this number by utilizing hands-on, in-the-driver's-seat training. SKILLS believes in teaching outside of the classroom in order to give students the opportunity to learn through real-world, cause-and-effect exercises.

 

A few years later, SKILLS realized that companies were facing a similar knowledge and skill gap with the drivers in their company fleets. SKILLS recognizes that each company faces a unique set of problems in regards to driver's safety, which is why we offer a flexible solution to any company's needs.

 

Our instructors are world-class, with diverse backgrounds and experiences in professional driving. We have former police officers, race car drivers, truck drivers, stunt drivers, and military veterans. We teach worldwide, and therefore, in several different languages. Because people learn different ways, SKILLS believes it is important to be able to teach different ways. This is what makes our instructors so great and SKILLS so special.
